Happy Anniversary to David and Iris and Shabbat Shalom!
This week, one meaningful pasuk in the parsha is that “man does not live by bread alone, but by the utterance of g-d’s mouth.” The physical and material world is not all that was created for us in this life, but also the great ability to love and be loved by others who are made in the image of g-d. Today we are grateful to celebrate the 32nd wedding anniversary of founder David and Iris and their journey together to not live by bread alone.
Something else we celebrate (bi) yearly at Chicago Jewish Funerals is our calendar, a tool to celebrate these wonderful moments in our lives. This year, we are pleased to include a Tzedakah box as part of the calendar to remind us that while we do not live by bread alone, there are people who don’t have enough bread in their homes. – This beautiful post was written by David and Iris’s daughter, Talia Jacobson.
Shabbat shalom to all!
