Burgess Wilson, MD age 62. Husband of Jennifer Morgenstern. Loving father of Ariana and Alexander Wilson. Brother of Rosser Wilson, John "Randy" (Marguerite) Wilson, Wyndham Wilson (Larry Gilstrap), and Damaris Wilson. A private family service will be held. Burgess meant the world to me. I'm also a writer and art historian. I have some beautiful passages he sent me via text message -- weaving aesthetics, environmentalism and ethics together. Concerning art and empathy, Burgess had attended an exhibition and was upset he couldn't appreciate the wonderful art because the galleries were monopolized by curator's signs everywhere explaining the art -- what one was supposed to see and what it all meant!

I remember especially an image of Burgess showing me how, when Ariana and Alex were younger -- was it at the airport? -- he'd be carrying Ariana in one hand and Alex in the other -- and Burgess held out the palms of his hands to show me -- and you had to go through a doorway. With a child in each hand, he managed to wedge the door open with one foot ... and viola! ... they'd all go through the doorway together.
