“Craigy” was genuinely like a grandparent to me growing up. I have the most fond memories of him from my childhood and can’t remember a time when he wasn’t there. He knew how to make me and Jessica laugh and he was so so proud of us. He was so so proud of Brea and Lainie and would constantly talk about them and what they were up to. It was always very clear that one of his greatest joys in life was being their grandpa. I loved when he would share pictures of them or we would all go over to their house to play, all of his “girls” together. I will always remember him as a warm, empathetic, intelligent, and selfless person who has undoubtedly made me the person I am today and is a reason I look back on my childhood so fondly. I will love him forever. Sending so much love and strength to the family ❤️

I’m shocked and deeply saddened to learn that Craig has passed away. Both Craig and I were best friends with the same couple and met decades ago through them. Craig loved his sons and granddaughters unconditionally, and talked about them constantly. I live in MI; I’ll miss our long phone conversations about politics, Pro & NCAA sports and debates about the best Chicago restaurants , or my insistence that you keep your Jeff Koon “balloon dog.”To Craig’s family and friends: May Craig’s memory be a blessing. Craig, if there’s any justice in the world, you’re on your way to see Sheldon & Sheree. Love you all, elyse

So saddened to hear of Craig’s passing.
He was truly a kind-hearted person with whom I shared many nice times with while living in Chicago. I know how much he loved his family and was the consummate proud grandpa.
I will miss seeing his postings about his travels to Israel and proud photos with his grandchildren and grand dogs.
I hold many nice memories of Craig as a person and friend.
My thoughts of sympathy are with his family at this difficult time.

Dear Craig,
Even though I had little time to get to know you, I’m happy that in that brief period we were able to spend so much time together. You told me so much about yourself, your love for your children, and the special relationship you had with your father, who always took you to Chinatown. For this reason, you wanted to share with me your favorite places, where everyone knew and loved you. You loved talking to everyone and greeting the people we met. You enjoyed driving because it made you feel free, and now you truly are.
I wish I could have spent more time with you, but I’m still grateful to have known you. Your presence in my life was like that of a father, and the time we spent together will remain among my most cherished memories. I love you so much, Craigie Craigie. Goodbye ❤️

Wow! What a loss. Craig was one of my first friends when I moved to South Shore in 1959. I learned about collecting coins from my favorite numismatist.
We lost contact after he moved away. Thanks to Facebook we reconnected 6-7 years ago and I enjoyed hearing about his grandchildren and seeing pictures of his dogs.
Craig, I’m sure your memory will be for a blessing to your friends and family.
