Dear friend Marguerite..words cannot express the loss we feel. So many memories of you flood our minds…so much joy fills our hearts when we close our eyes and picture your face. And your face brings a smile..and such deep sadness today.
Marguerite, you were such a complex woman…such an independent thinker and yet so traditional in your devotion to Ted. He was your whole world, and yet you were so “worldly “ yourself, comfortable talking to anyone and sharing your often controversial views, You were a true liberal, and defender of free thinking, with an open mind and spirit…and so generous with your love.
And wow..such amazing taste and awareness of beauty! How many lives you touched with your dream business of Marguerite Gardens..so many beautiful spaces created by your vision and the work of your hands. To say nothing about the lives you changed and souls you touched by giving people jobs, working for you and digging in the dirt! We shared a love for collecting things from the past, and a respect for the work of artists and visionaries. What an incredible mind you had for detail!
We remember countless dinners , martinis, the Christmas dinners at our house, Passover dinners at your house, our little weekend vacations to Milwaukee…and your caring and pride in our Michael and Enza..as though they were part of you. Too many memories, and yet, not enough. You are gone too soon, but we know you are where you want to be, with Ted, maybe planting smiles and flowers in heaven! You ended every phone call saying” love you guys!”We love you Marguerite. God bless you, and all those left behind whose life you touched.
