I did not know Mr. Appel, but i know his son Elliot, whom I know to be a great man. Thus, his father must have been great to have raised a wonderful son. All the best to Elliot, Elliot's mother, and the rest of his family during this tough time.

My cousin David and I grew up together in Detroit. Our families were very close. David always made us laugh with his crazy and wonderful sense of humor. We didn’t see each other often once we embarked on our adult lives; but I always cherished the memories of celebrating holidays, good times and intense discussions. David was a loving father and husband and cousin. I hope he’s resting peacefully.

Dear Appel family,
David was a dear friend of my aunt and uncle, Raymond Weiss and Catherine Bock-Weiss, and I was blessed to meet him through this connection. During our brief encounters, I was blessed to be touched by his warmth, openness, and constant sense of humor. May his memory be a blessing. Love to the Appel family and all his dear friends.
