Oscar E. Ramos: a loving husband, father, educator, friend, and cancer warrior. Oscar was born on August 25, 1961 in El Progreso, Honduras. After coming to the United States, he attended the University of Illinois at Chicago where he pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts and Science with a focus on International Relations, as well as Master’s Degree in ESL and Bilingual Education. The first day I met Oscar when I was invited into his home he made me feel welcome and didn't know me at all ,we laughed joked and he asked me if I knew how to grill cause he wanted me to watch what he was cooking while he lit a cigar that he wanted me to try I told him no like I'll come on try it you'll love it.. but when a man opens up his home to a complete stranger and makes him feel at home I can honestly say this is one brother that I had a good time with you will be missed rest well Oscar

Mr. Ramos was an amazing teacher and mentor. I have always been a problem student which is why my dad wouldn't pay for my field trips or sometimes my dad just didn't have it or I was scared to ask my dad pay for me to go on the trip and Mr Ramos made sure that I wasn't left behind from the class to join the field trip and I always had a special place in my heart for him because of that. He helped me pass my subjects and he also use to talk to me about getting in trouble and doing my work. I will forever remember Mr Ramos❤️

Oscar was one of my very best friends in and out of work. I worked with him at Avondale-Logandale School. He was beloved by the staff and the students. He loved to teach and help others in need. I spent many hours after and during school as friends and comrades. He will be surely although I know he is in a better place. .He loved to joke, dance, and enjoyed life to the very end. RIP Oscar.
