OBITUARY

Arseny Torgovnik, 80

Beloved husband of Bella nee Snitkovskaya. Loving father of Svetlana (Wayne) Potrue and Olga (Sue Dixon) Torgovnik. Cherished grandfather of Austin, Jackson and Colin Potrue. Dear brother of Mila (Aleks) Serebryannyy and brother-in-law of Aleksandr (Larisa) and Felix (Irina). Dear uncle of Leo (Jada) and Diana (Vadim). Arseny was born in Odessa, Ukraine and spent 41 happy years living in the Chicagoland area, working as an Engineer, and loved to travel with his wife and family. He will be missed by his family and his many friends. To keep everyone safe and healthy, the chapel service and interment are private. In lieu of flowers, memorials to The Survivor Mitzvah Project, 2658 Griffith Park Blvd., Ste. #299 Los Angeles, CA 90039 www.survivormitzvah.org would be appreciated. Please join us online for a Memorial Celebration on Sunday, November 15, 2:00 pm (Central Standard Time). One of my treasured memories is when Arseny & Bella welcomed me into their home to share dinner with their family- Bella provided an array of food to enjoy, and Arseny made sure the bottle of vodka was on the table...it was the night they shared their story of their journey to America.
I am so happy you have the recent memories of his 80th birthday celebration.

It is very painful to write these words. My heart is crying with you, Bellochka, Svetochka, Olechka and loved ones. Arseny was a great husband, father, son, brother. My brightest childhood memories are associated with my beloved city Odessa. And your family is always present in these memories. I remember your hospitable and warm home, where friends gathered. I remember Svetochka and a newborn Olechka, who was lying across the armchair. I remember how Arseny cooked porridge for children, how he helped you in everything, Bellochka. He was a reliable, devoted friend, bright and kind person. That is how he will remain in my memory. My parents loved your family very much, Bellochka, and warmly recalled the years of friendship with you. Heaven gotten one more angel. My deepest condolences to all family and friends.
