Funeral Details

Edith Postelnick Weinbaum passed away peacefully this April 26, 2023, 3 weeks after celebrating her 93rd birthday. Edith was raised in Peoria. Il She was married to Marshall Weinbaum from 1954 until his death in 2012. Edith was a devoted mother, wife and notable seamstress. Edith and Marshall raised their two daughters, Paula Weinbaum and Sharon Weinbaum in Skokie. In 1982 she and Marshall moved to Ancient Tree in Northbrook and continued to thrive in a large community of close friends until 3 years ago. Edith was admired by all who knew her for her strength, her loyalty, and her straightforward ways. Those who knew her best would call her spunky. She was loved deeply by her surviving daughters Paula and Sharon, her son in law, Arthur Hoffman; her four grandchildren, Abe and Sander Hoffman, Peter and Sarah Barsi; her nephew Howard Cutler and his wife Susan Cutler; her sister Ruth Chase and family. Graveside service Thursday, April 27, 1PM at Shalom Memorial Park, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
