To my Kanofshy family,

I am so deeply sorry for your loss.
Even though distance separated us, Leslie and I stayed close through countless long phone conversations. Moments I will always treasure. We would talk about everything from our childhood memories, family traditions, and the stories that shaped who we are. I especially cherish the passion and care Leslie poured into creating our family tree, preserving our shared history for generations to come.
Her warmth, laughter, and love for family were always so evident, even across the miles. She will be so dearly missed, but the bond she kept alive between us will remain forever in my heart.
Wishing you comfort and peace in this incredibly difficult time.

Love,
Debbie

Leslie was a pleasure to be with. She was kind and caring. We volunteered together in the Fruit and Vegetable garden. I will remember her for her kindness and sense of humor. Rest in peace Leslie.

I’m SO VERY SORRY to have heard about your mom, & of course, your dad, who I didn’t know had died until I
read this in Leslie’s obituary. As a “neighbor “ who lives just a few blocks away, I often walk past their house, but haven’t seen either of them for several years. They were both wonderful people and parents. While our kids were at Devonshire school , your mom and I became good friends and she became my gardening mentor, influencing me a great deal. I know that Leslie was a thoughtful & loving parent, volunteer & advocate for matters important to her. She had a good heart & was compassionate (and also very funny) . I hope you are comforted by loving memories of both of your parents.

To the Kanofsky family: I knew Leslie as a fellow volunteer at the Chicago Botanic Garden. I liked working more when she was there! She was helpful, knowledgeable, and funny - with both patrons and colleagues alike! She set a high bar for service, a real example, a real mensch. May she rest in peace now and her memory will certainly be a blessing. Wishing you comfort and peace in this incredibly difficult time.
