OBITUARY
Mark Howard Goldman, Age 76.
Mark is survived by his beloved wife, Denise Goldman (Hermanski), daughters Lauren (Nestor) Escobales, Dana (Jason) Garofalo, grandchildren Allison, Mia, and Barrett Garofalo, Eddie, and Sam Escobales, brother Jerry (Kathy) Goldman, nieces Julie (Aaron) Gaby, and Amanda Goldman.
Mark started his career as a school science teacher and went on to become dean of students and eventually retired as a high school guidance counselor from Thornwood High School after 32 years of service. Mark loved his job and even continued to substitute teach in the Lincolnway School District during his retirement. He loved his family more than anything and never took anything in life for granted. Mark and Denise were married just shy of 50 years and were such a beautiful match, they were inseparable throughout their marriage. He would beam when speaking about his daughters and devoted his life to being the best husband, dad, and grandfather, and he was. He was an avid fisherman and reader, and enjoyed watching Chicago sports, especially baseball. He spent many happy hours fishing, playing ball, and doing homework with his grandchildren.
Mark passed away peacefully with his family by his side after a valiant battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) for almost five years.
Funeral Thursday, November 30, 2023, 10:30 AM at Joliet Jewish Congregation, 250 North Midland Avenue, Joliet, IL with a public visitation from 10 AM - 10:30 AM. Rabbi Jennifer Steinberg-Martinez.
