Betty and I were friend at 14 and then continued our friendship as roommates for 4 years at MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY. Our room on the first floor of Abbot Dormitory looked out on a walking path. Jimmy Cohen walked by with his then girlfriend. Betty , who doesn’t know him , says, “I’m going to marry him”. That was the beginning of a 60 year marriage and romance. Up until Betty couldn’t speak she told me how much she loved Jimmy “. Who says there is no such thing as “love at first sight” !
