Dear Paul, Mitchell, and Norman
I was truly saddened to learn of your dear father's passing. I had a long but casual relationship with him and your mother; o'h; Religious Zionists meetings, book clubs, and you ,Paul were a buddy of my son, Chanan. Not to forget that all of you were in my First Grade Hebrew class at Hillel Torah. Both of your parents were people of sterling character!
It was when my late husband was at Buckingham, after your Mother had died, that my relationship with your Dad was refreshed. I would come and stay for Shabbat. So when we made Kiddush and HaMotzie and had desert( because the main meal had already been served before Shabbat ) we invited your Dad to join us. He readily agreed and we had a lovely 15-20 minutes of mutually pleasant conversation and socializing every Friday night. All of that came to an end with Covid.
Your Dad accepted his weakening condition without bitterness . His greatest irritation , justifiably, was when he had to wait for help. Bauch Dayan HaEmet. I am very sorry for your loss!
May the memory of your father be a blessing as you continue his legacy and values of good deeds and kindnesses.
