OBITUARY
Sharon Schreier, age 82, née Stern, beloved mother of Rose and wife of the late Larry, devoted daughter of the late Faye (née Teichman) and James Stern. Sharon was a remarkable and adored educator, serving the Mozart School community in Logan Square, Chicago for 41 years (1961–2005), where she taught Spanish, music, 8th grade, and bilingual Kindergarten, and directed plays and musicals. She was a world traveler, having visited multiple countries in Latin America and Europe as well as Mexico, Israel, and Hawaii, and often sang songs in multiple languages and took students to Flamenco dance performances, reflecting her sincere appreciation of other cultures. Sharon was extremely friendly, genial, and notably generous; in addition to being a wonderful storyteller and aficionada of disco music, her quick wit and warm nature charmed many—indeed, she maintained an exceptionally wide and diverse array of friends and colleagues from every season of her life. Her upbeat attitude and unwavering positivity in the face of multiple health challenges throughout the years is a testament to her indomitable spirit, and she will be deeply missed by many.
