Aunt Maxine was a second mother to me after my mom passed away in 2001. We spoke on a regular basis at least once a week on Fridays while she was waiting for her beautician. We always spoke about family as that was the most important to her. I looked forward to hearing from her when I would send her special treats of honey cake at Rosh Hashanah, hamantashen at Purim and Graeter's Ice Cream for Hanukkah and her birthday. I would never miss the opportunity to see her and my cousins on my recent trips to Chicago. One of my recent fondest memories to Chicago was when 9 of my friends came to Chicago 8 years ago to help celebrate my birthday. We took a limo to Aunt Maxine's condo where she served brunch to all 9 of us to help celebrate my birthday. Her home was always open.

Cory and I had the special opportunity to join the entire Roth family on a trip to LA in December 2017 to help celebrate Aunt Maxine's 90th birthday. It was a special time for us to bond with my amazing cousins and my special aunt. Aunt Maxine insisted I join them to help distract from my loss of Jon that past June. I certainly needed a fun time with family. I will miss her terribly. She will always be in my thoughts.

Elliot, Susan and Jeff - my condolences to you and your families. I was sorry to read about your mom's passing. Your parents were such close friends to my parents for many decades. Reading about your mom's passing brought back many memories of the many break the fast together at your parents home after Yom Kippur services along with the many other holidays and happy occasions we spent together.
Peace be with you.

Maxine is the reason I moved to Chicago from Toledo. Hard to imagine what our lives would have been if we had not been roommates for a few wonderful years.

Jeff, Ellen and Daniella,
Your Mom/Grandma lived a good life and was well loved. May your sorrow fade quickly and your memories of time spent together grow even sweeter. Love always.
