My wife, Carol and I had the privilege of living next-door to the Preskill family a number of years ago. I remember Stuart very well and I recall that he was a person of warmth. and generosity. Carol and I are sorry for your loss and we extend our sympathies to all of the members of the Preskill family.

My late husband Alan and I raised our children with Stuart and Gilda. We spent many happy hours over the years with them, not to mention meals at their home, with their friends, and also going out. One of his favorite sayings was “Life is not a dress rehearsal.” Stuart and I both shared a passion for photography, although he started much earlier. He had a great sense of humor and was always optimistic, warm and supportive. He would constantly call in our later years to find out how we were doing. It was a pleasure to watch each of his sons grow up….each very different and special in their own way. I’ll never forget three generations of Preskills, Matt, Stu and son, (sometimes with Gilda on the accordion)in concert together. Mindel was always my role model for what a Jewish mother should be, so loving and a perfectionist housekeeper. And her own mother was incredibly lively into her older years, Shecould thread a needle without glasses.

I have many more stories about Gilda and myself, but I won’t go onto them here. Billy, David and Robert, you were truly blessed to have a very special father. This is the end of the play……..but encores will echo on for many years to come, as we all remember him with love and admiration.

The Machado family is so sad to hear the news. We all love your father and mother so much. I will do my best to bring my mother to one of the Shivas. Your father was so kind, such a great listener, so warm, took interest in me when I was a young man that I will never forget. I just have no words as to how special he was to my family. My mother says she was trying to reach them for days.
We extend our deepest sympathies for this loss.

What a joyful service you all held for dear Stuart! Rick and I were so honored to call him our friend. You all so clearly captured his warm and loving spirit - in the stories, laughs and words that were shared.

He will be deeply missed. The light in our world is a little bit dimmer with his passing.

We send our love and condolences to all.
