OBITUARY
Wayne Elliott Silverman, 62.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne Elliott Silverman who passed peacefully in his sleep on September 24, 2024, in Northbrook, Illinois after a fight against cancer like no other fight you have witnessed. A resilient man, overcoming many years of illness and consistently beating the odds. Affectionately known as "Padge," this incredible man touched the lives of friends and family in countless ways.
Wayne is survived by his beloved wife, Susie (nee Miller) Silverman, and their four children: Whitney, Samara, Jordan, and Colin Silverman (Kayla Schwartz). He was a devoted son to Madelyn and David Silverman, a favorite son-in-law of Sherry and Bill Miller (d. 1985), a cherished brother to Bonnie (Steve) Karlin, loving brother-in-law to Jeff and Maureen Miller, and a caring uncle to Lindsey, Daphne, Molly, Noah, and Addie.
Wayne was the grand master planner of vacations, the voice of Passover Seders that included cartoon clips of the Rugrats, and “that guy” who always asked the important questions at the Cubs convention. He was the master of about ten dad jokes that never changed, the ultimate Connect 4 champion, and a determined finder of Jewish heritage sites worldwide. Every family meal will be fondly remembered for his creation of the beloved "Silverman Style" of food ordering—where sharing was key.
Wayne made lasting memories for his family and friends. He was a true believer in the power of faith, family, and a positive spirit. His radiant smile lit up every room, bringing joy to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Many people use words like "The Best," "#1 Dad," and "Superman" to describe their fathers. Wayne embodied all of those qualities, but the word “GOOD” stands out most. He was just so, so good. Wayne Silverman leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience, having made a tremendous impact on all who knew him. While the world has lost an irreplaceable person, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of many.
