Rene, I am thinking of you and your family during this difficult time. The great trees in the forest in whose shadow we grew up are falling, and we pause in deep respect for their majesty. The fond memories are what provide us all the warm thoughts of lost loved ones when we have the chance to close our eyes and to be with them once again. See you soon.

Sherwin hired me at C. F. Murphy in 1964 and was for the next 9 years a mentor and friend. I had the greatest respect for his knowledge and kindness to me. He and I spoke many times after he went into his own practice, and he was always gracious and helpful. One of the outstanding Structural Engineers in the Chicago area and a colleague and friend to
many.

I was able to meet Leanora and some of their kids at company gatherings.

I was saddened to learn of his passing and I will always remember him and be grateful to him for the confidence he showed in me and the opportunities he gave me.

Dear Edie and Rene,

I just finished watching the beautiful service on Zoom. I first met Lenore through Hadassah and bridge and then Jerome and I both became friends with Sherwin and Lenore. We spent many wonderful times together in Florida and Chicago. When we went out to dinner, Jerome and I always found it so interesting to hear about Sherwin's projects. When we moved to the high rise in Chicago, Jerorme and I were proud to point to all the skyscapers outside our window and say our friend Sherwin Asrow did these.

I remember Sherwin telling us about how he had to climb to the top of the Hancock building to check on the antennas among many of the projects he had to work on. Sherwin and Lenore were invited to our son's wedding in Denver and Sherwin loved coming in to the old airport and at the end of the wedding weekend, being able to check out the architecture work of the new Denver airport.

I am thankful that Sherwin lived such a long, accomplished, and productive life. My thoughts are with you.

Best Wishes,

Gayle Landy

We spent several New Year's Eve's together and my most favorite times were about hearing about all projects during our dinner conversations.
