As Neal was a childhood friend, I spent quite a bit of time around his family. Arlene was one of the sweetest mothers of any of my friends. I can’t remember a single time she didn’t greet me with her warm smile and kind words. Our families are related, so I would see Arlene at occasional gatherings throughout my adult life. Her behavior never changed. Always glad to see me. I have nothing but fond memories, and wish her family healing from the loss of this strong and loving woman.
