Dear Hubert,
I have the fondest memories of our trips with you and Judy. It didn’t matter to us if we were going for a day trip or a several day trip they were all so much fun! Every trip started with the four of us singing ON THE ROAD AGAIN!! I remember several of them especially. We were taking a weekend trip on your boat. Lake Michigan became very rough when we were on the boat for a very short time! Judy and I yelled at you to please slow down we couldn’t take the bumps and then we said we had to get off the boat. We finally found a dock to pull into! We were so grateful to hit land! We rented a car and drove home! Another day trip we took to the kettle Moraine in Wisconsin. As we walked in the woods we admired the beautiful leaves changing colors. All of the sudden I heard a noise & said to everyone it is a gun! The three of you laughed at me and we continued on our walk! Another gun shot rang out and without a word the four of us ran as fast as we could out of the woods!!
On another trip we went to a beautiful Bed & Breakfast for a weekend in Michigan! Bob, who always needed a television in his room had to rent the bridal suite because it was the only room that had a TV! We also loved our Route 66 trip from Oklahoma to Illinois! What beautiful memories those trips gave to us! We laughed so much together!
Hubert, I will miss you! I pray that you, Marvin & Bob are all together again!
Love, Judy

Judy, Marcia, Audrey, and Rene,
I am so sorry for your loss. I have so many good memories of us growing up together. All the family vacations and get- togethers. I have always thought of you as family. I have never forgotten, being able to go to Hubie's shoe store when we were kids, and he would let me pick out several pairs of size 4 sample shoes. It made me feel so grown up. May you find peace and comfort with all your memories you shared together.
Sending you lots of love and hugs.

So many memories have been floating in and out of my brain since hearing about Hubie's death. The first time we met was when I was about 12, and he and Judy came to Michigan City to visit us. Later, I was fortunate enough to become a junior bridesmaid at their beautiful wedding at the Blackstone Hotel. Through the years, Judy and Hubie have been part of my life--birthday celebrations, bar mitzvahs, weddings, special weekends away--like the one in Las Vegas when Hubie picked us up at the airport in a gold Cadillac. Oh, how Hu loved his cars! I think about his enduring love affair with Judy; his pride in his daughters and their spouses; the accomplished grandchildren; and--the icing on the cake--becoming a great-grandfather. He has left behind a beautiful legacy that, I hope, will bring solace to his dear ones. If only we could all share one more road trip, one more sunset over Lake Michigan, one more bag of popcorn with him.

I am so sorry for your loss. May his memory be for a blessing. I have fond memories as a child going to the shoe store, as well as many family gatherings at Aunt Judy's and Uncle Bob's.
