Hello,

I would like to express my condolences to the family and friends of Mark Goldberg.
For those that do not know me, my name is Leon Goldberg. Today is a very sad day as we pay tribute to Mark Goldberg, my dear friend for more than 50 years.
Our friendship was truly extraordinary and started all the way back in 1964, when we were both college students in our home town of Odessa Ukraine. We meet on the first day of class when the professor called out for a “Goldberg” and we both stood up and since that moment we always stayed together. We always thought of ourselves as more than friends, we considered ourselves brothers and often introduced ourselves as brothers.
When Mark met and married his wonderful wife Eugenia, she instantly became a friend and like a sister to me. When we all immigrated to the US we unfortunately settled in different states. I went to NY and Mark to Illinois. Despite the difference we continued our friendship and spoke regularly. He always talked about his amazing two daughters, how proud he was of them and of how much they have accomplished. I will keep memory of him forever.
Throughout our 53 year long friendship Mark was always there for me to guide me and protect me. I will miss him dearly and remember him as the wonderful friend, talented father and devoted husband.

Thank you.
Leon Goldberg.
