Laury A. Chez. Beloved husband for 42 years of Marcy. Loving father of Mindy (Holby) Abern, Gayle (Mike) Rizzuto, and Alex Chez. Proud “Ace” of Morgan, Parker, Ryder, Payton, Hutton, and Walker. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Debbi Chez (George Kiermas) and Michael (Michelle) Rapaport. Fond uncle of Sara (Jon) Simons, Kyle Rapaport, Garrett Herzfeld, and Kayla Herzfeld. Cherished friend of Mike (Lisa) Africk. He was a friend and trusted advisor to many. Service Tuesday 2PM at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 195 N. Laury was one of the nicest guys in the world. He had a great sense of humor. He was very kind to my mother and my children. This was also a man that loved his children and always put them first. His passing was a shocking and devastating loss to me and my family.

Marcy……I just heard from Mike Africk and I find myself in stunned disbelief. I am so, so sorry to hear about your loss. As you know, I have known Laury for many, many years and he was a good, but “distant friend” (as we haven’t seen each other in person for quite a while) and a trusted financial advisor to innumerable people and institutions. He will be sorely missed, but by no one more than you and your family. It is my hope that your current pain will eventually be replaced by all the memories you have built over the last several decades. My sincere condolences and may Laury RIP!!

I was very lucky to be able to call Laury a friend. Whether it was with our sons' in little league, at the health club, in business or otherwise. Laury had the quintessential sense of humor and brilliance in business. I loved talking White Sox and Illini sports with him especially. He will truly be missed by all and may his memory always be for a blessing.
