OBITUARY

Dr. Gary Meyers, 76, beloved husband, father, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend passed away on May 25, 2020 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Known for his infectious laughter and his kindness, he brought out the best in all of us. For more than 50 years, he practiced family dentistry as a doctor to so many and a friend to all.

Gary had a passion for photography, technology, sports, and a day at the beach, and enjoyed them most with family and friends. He loved unconditionally, gave wholeheartedly, and will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Devoted son of the late Rose and Gilbert Meyers, Gary is survived by his wife Marilyn, children Stacy, Thomas, Danny, Danielle, Mindy, Jami and Howard and grandchildren Connor, Lou, Quin, Jessie, Jonathan, Danielle and Scott.

GARRY WAS A GREAT UNCLE . HE WHENT TO SHOPPING WITH TO THE MOVIES AND BASEBALL GAME AND A FOOTBALL GAME . WE ATE AT HIS FAVORITE PLACE LIKE CHESSECAKE FACTORY BONE FISH ,HIBACHI GRILL AND HE DID MY TEETH TOO HE LOVE WATCH SPORTS IWILL MISS HIM A HOLE LOT THANK YOU AND LOVE FROM KEVIN C

I have known Gary since grammar school....what a friendly nice guy. I enjoyed seeing him at many of our reunions. I send my condolences to all the members of his beautiful family.

Gary was generous even as as child. We both went to North school (up to 5th grade), then to Central. In sports at school, he was the best and I was the worst. He invited me to his house to practice, helping me as much as he could. I was so honored. I also remember listening to opera records in his basement on summer days. We played the grand march from Aida over and over. I can't hear it today without thinking of him. We all have wonderful memories of Gary and I know they will be fore a blessing. Gary brought warmth wherever he went. At simchas, he gifted us with an abundance of photos captured with his loving eye. In chapter 2 of Pirke Avot, we read that Rabban Yochanan Ben Zakkai said, Go out and see which path is good for a person to follow. Rabi Eliezer said, looking at everything with a good eye....he is therefore beloved to all and loves all. Rabi Yehoshua said, a good friend. Rabi Eliezer said, a good heart. Gary followed this good path.

I fondly remember growing up with Gary at North and Central Schools. He was a good guy and, as I recall, he grew early and in 6th grade he was a fearsome fullback. Later I learned that he was an excellent and compassionate dentist. My mom, Frances Hoffman was a patient of his. Gary told me at a reunion that a important reason that he went into dentistry was the example of my dad, Charlie Hoffman who was Gary's dentist as a child.
