Ira was a delight! I knew him through Rotary where he was a charter member of the Evanston lighthouse Rotary Club, founded in June, 1985. His loyalty and generosity to the club continued to the end. In later years, when I phoned occasionally to find out how he was doing, he always seemed glad to hear about Rotary doings. In his younger days I remember the Rotary club supporting him in his long bike rides for charity. I am so thankful that I had a chance to know him and his family. John and I join in your sadness at this loss of the family patriarch.
