Peter was a close friend going back to our days as political science grad students at the U. of C. He was the best man at Judyâ??s and my wedding. And in recent years, he and Andrea were fun traveling companions. I always loved watching the way Peter gesticulated wildly while he talked and often cracked himself up in his stream-of-consciousness commentaries, even if they sometimes left me puzzled. I will greatly miss our conversations about politics and â??local community dynamics.â? Peterâ??s passing leaves the world without his exuberance, interest in people, and devotion to community service. But I feel consoled knowing that Peterâ??s spirit and warmth live on in his Andrea, Margalit, and Shoshana.
