Dear Robyn and Family:

I worked for Ed for over four years at Northbrook Bank and Trust and he was one of the kindest and most considerate people that I have had the privilege to know.

He always spoke so lovingly about you and the children, his face would light up with pride whenever he shared a story about each of you. I learned a lot from Ed, not only about banking but about the joy of going through life with a smile on your face and a kind word for everyone.

My deepest condolences to all of you.

I had the pleasure of working with Ed at Wintrust, and even though I knew him for a short time, I have to say that he was a very nice and kind person, a gentelment with a great since of humor. I am very sorry for his loss and my thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Dear Robyn, Benjamin, Rachel, Abby, Ellie, and Micah, plus Ed's grandchildren and Siblings,

My favorite memory of Ed (z"l) -- Robyn knows this one well -- was from Robyn & Ed's visit to our home when we lived in Montclair, NJ ~30+ years ago. They came for a wedding and for the several hours of the event, we agreed to babysit Abby, who was still an infant.

Robyn got ready in another room while Ed sat with Abby, my wife Pat, and me in our living room. I played with little Abby on our hardwood living room floor and we stopped to rest. I helped Abby sit up and then I let go. Abby was still so young, she couldn't sit up on her own, and she spilled backward and her little head made a big thunk on the hardwood. I was horrified at my inattention and as Robyn came out to see what had happened, Ed said, "That's OK, we can always get another one."

And they did after Abby x 2, Ellie and Micah! What a beautiful, fun, creative, funny, menschlich, smart, and talented family they produced together.

My memories of my dear friend Ed are too numerous to list! His many attributes too many to mention. Above all he was genuine and caring to all. I greatly enjoyed our weekly conversations and open conversations. I’ll never forget not wanting to give him back his bathing suit after his mikvah “dip” in Lake Michigan and our annual pre Robyn Yom Kippur naps at my condo between between service breaks at Anshe Emet. Most of all I’ll just miss my dear friend being in my life.
May his memory be as a blessing!
I love you Ed

Dear Robyn and family,

My deepest condolences to you all. Ed was such an amazing person and a beacon of light in this world. I have so many wonderful memories of Ed laughing and joking and video taping various Thanksgivings, cousin vacations and weddings. I’m so grateful he was able to come to my wedding. It was so special having him there and I’ll forever treasure it. I wish I could be there now in person, but know I’m there in spirit. And I’ll be watching via livestream.

Sending you all my love!
