Arden Strauss, nee Honig, age 77.
Beloved wife of Les Strauss. Loving mother of Sari (Doug McGoldrick) Haro and Lisa Strauss. Proud grandmother of Mateo and Daliah Haro. Cherished sister of Sharlene Wayman and Howard (Judy) Honig and sister-in-law of Evelyn Levin. She will be dearly missed by many other extended family and friends. Memorial service Tuesday, 1 PM at Temple Beth-El, 3610 Dundee Road, Northbrook, IL 60062. Interment private.

Les, I send my deepest sympathy to you Sari,Lisa and all the family. Members. I met Arden in 1977as we both joined ORT. We shared our families and I have so many memories. RIP my friend.

I have known Arden for many years. Although she suffered with Altzeimers for most of those years, she occasionally made observations that were very insightful. I enjoyed talking to her at the dessert oneg after services.

As a child I was mesmerized by looking at the beautiful artwork made by Arden that she displayed on her walls. Arden was probably the most patient of any of my friend's parents, and I suspect she is remembered fondly by generations of her students.

Arden was a dear mentor and friend to me in my early years as an educator at Zion-Benton. Her love for her family was so strong in all of her stories, and her genuine care for students was inspiring. After I left ZB, Arden and I stayed in touch for a while and she would check on me in my early years of motherhood. I think of Arden every time I garden, and I recall visiting with her in her beautiful gardens at her home in Deerfield. I will forever be grateful for her grace, guidance, and love. Arden was a true gift and I am thankful to have known her.
