Though I met Shirley at Hibbard just a few years before her retirement, my adoration for her was immediate. I was fortunate to work closely with her and develop a treasured friendship that continued outside of school. She provided an endearing role model that will be difficult to match. I am truly sorry for your loss.

To all of Shirley's family: It was an honor and a privilege to have worked with Shirley at Hibbard. That said, the thing that I cherish the most, was that she considered me her friend, and that I considered her mine. She thought of me not only as a friend but as part of her family...her huge family outside of her actual, immediate family. Shirley enriched my life in many ways. I will miss my truly special friend and will carry her in my heart always. My heartfelt condolences to all. XO, Renee
