I first knew Cara through our tennis games, but Cara easily became a real friend, as she was the most caring of people and was always in good spirits. She was the organizer to get people together and was always there to help. I hadn't been in touch with her lately, unfortunately, but I will miss her.

Although I knew Cara for only a few years, I felt that we were long-time friends. We connected as soon as we met. Cara was warm, friendly and a very caring person. She was fun to be with even when she was battling her illness. I will miss her. Rest in peace Cara.

My name is Lee Schwartz, and my father Howard Schwartz was a first cousin of Thelma Yore. My grandfather Louis Schwartz was the brother of Sarah Schwartz, who later married to become Sarah Kaufman. Thelma Yore was Sarah's daughter. My parents Howard and Lillian Schwartz were part of a first cousins club in their middle years, and that included Thelma and Ed as well as my aunt and uncle Estelle and Eli Putterman.

With this background in mind, my wife Debbie and I would like to express our condolences on the passing of Cara. Many years ago there was a family gathering at some park in the northern suburbs and some of you were at the event, when we met. Unfortunately, I did not have contact with Cara until a few years ago, when we spoke by telephone, after Susan Miller discovered that she and her father were the granddaughter and son of Edward Schwartz.

The funeral was such a beautiful honoring of Cara. I found it interesting to see that Cara was such a vital member of Beth El Congregation because since my retirement, I have become a much more involved member of Beth Hillel Bnai Emunah, also a conservative congregation in Wilmette. And I too am not reticent to raise my hand (virtually) and ask a question.

She sounds like she was a wonderful, smart, and talented lady, and I am sorry that I did not get to know here better.

Also I am sorry that I will not be able to attend the shiva, but I have had Type 1 diabetes for over 43 years and I am being extremely careful, even having been vaccinated

Again, our sincere condolences.

Lee Schwartz
