GUEST BOOK

We encourage you to share your personal condolences and stories of Honorable Bruce H. Segal below and we will share them with the family.
*Email and phone numbers will NOT be displayed online

Judy and Allison: we are so deeply saddened to hear this sad news. What a tragedy this has been for all of you, and particularly Bruce who was so proud of both of you, not to mention his beautiful grandchildren. I know how he would have loved to keep "score" at their games, just as he had done when you lived in Washington and partake of all the joys of the past years that he couldn't share. The strength you gave him, Judy, and your constant love and presence I know must have sustained him even though he may not have been able to express it. Our deepest sympathies and love to you both and to your beautiful family at this sad time, and always.

Bruce will be long remembered his loyal friendship and his supportive sense of humor and his love of sports and music. Bruce often spoke about his love for his family, Judy, Ali, and his grandkids. Bruce and I often volunteered for a State Dept. Organization which sponsored bringing students from abroad to the United States. He contributed for many years during his retirement enjoying, as he did, the importance of giving his time and talents to others. Arlene and I will remember sharing the Passover with Bruce and his family and friends during this Holiday — sharing its message of hope and optimism during these life cycles.

To Judy, Ali and the Segal and Lefkovitz Family:

Danny and I are so sad to hear that Bruce has finally passed away after so many years of dealing with Alzheimers. What a great friend to have had – warm, open, inclusive, funny and endlessly helpful. We are so lucky that you, Judy and Bruce, opened your hearts and home to us for the more than 45 years that we have known each other, including us in so many family events and celebrations. And, when Bruce became a Judge, it was truly the perfect place for him – a man of compassion for people who needed help. Danny and I will miss him terribly.

Dear Hero Judy and Family,
We remember the happy times we had with you, Bruce, and Alison in DC and MD. Judy you were so impressive in all you were doing for Bruce as he declined. Glad he wasn't aware of all the bad things Trump is doing to civil servants and our nation. Please take good care of yourself and plan to visit us soon. Perry and I are doing OK although I had a bad tumble down some nearby outdoor stairs on 2-26-25 and broke 6 ribs toward my back, but I am recovering at home now and the ribs should heal by themselves with no brace like before. The previous concussion fracture stayed together ok. Sherry, Jeff, Jayden and Kyra are OK except we just got bad news about Voice of America getting the ax. Jeff had been given more responsibilities in his job there but just now got the administrative leave notice.

Thanks for sending the information on how we can join you at the service virtually on Monday. We look forward to keeping in touch and seeing you soon. Much Love, Sue and Perry

Bruce was my friend for 70 years. We were HS graduates .
And Bruce was the ball boy on our basketball team team while I was the Captain. He was a compassionate and fair administrative law Judge. Anexora and I enjoyed our weekend walks with Bruce and Judy.

We will miss him dearly; he was a real mentsch!

I am saddened for your loss, but happy he is free from this terrible disease. I'm grateful I had a chance to know the witty, brilliant man he was before this diagnosis. It was amazing to watch the love Judy, Allison and his grandsons showed in his care. He will be missed and there will be an emptiness.

Bruce was a Mench in every possible way. As a new lawyer in Washington DC, I shared an office with Bruce who was my Mentor and advisor. His kindness to me was overwhelming .Fortunately, through his efforts, I got to meet his family in Maryland.

When I returned to the Midwest, Bruce followed me through my career, frequently exchanging phone calls to check up on me. When I wrote a recommendation letter for his pursuit of an administrative law judge position, my secretary, said if he ever came to Cincinnati she’d like to meet him and see his wings, because I wrote such an overwhelming positive letter of support. in my mind, his memory is a blessing!

Bruce and I go way back, having worked at the Interstate Commerce Commission in the early 1970s. We were then colleagues as Administrative Law Judges for many years. Whenever our work brought us together it was always wonderful to connect with someone who actually understood you and where you came from. Bruce's love of sports was only surpassed by his love of family. He was a lovely man, and I shall miss him.

I remember when Judy and Bruce moved to Evanston and enthusiastically joined our Cardio/Strength/Stretch class at the Levy Senior Center. I know it has been a long struggle. .May you find comfort with the mourners of Jerusalem and Zion.
