So many thoughts, so many memories. One memory that sticks out is cutting aravot in Skokie, near the tracks of the train to Milwaukee , and shoving the tied bundles onto the train and “shipping “ them there. Smiles and “backbreaking “ fun. He was a great friend even after not seeing each other for years on end

I have only fond memories of Mr. Kirshner Zatzal he always had a sense of humor and a good vort. My memories of him and my Zaidy he was wearing his plaid shirt with a flashlight on his head standing on a ladder or better yet lying on the floor under some machine or whatever the issue was that day will always make me smile … he used to always tell us how special our Zaidy was ..I remember speaking to my Zaidy and he would often tell me how Sheldon Kirshner used to call him and come over to visit him they really loved each other …. The Hespedim were beautiful and his life was a beautiful lesson how we should all live … the family should have a Nechama …

Still in denial , so grateful for the angel from Hashem we got to meet , and be zoche to be neighbors that felt like family . Being a single mother with children and finding a second home by the kirshner , he would said to my kids , come zaidy will give you a shabbos bracha , always being generous when the kids wanted extra kiddish, making everyone feel at home and on the floor from laughter . Kindness and comfort, care, humility , great sense of humor , baal chesed. Wanting to make sure everyone had what they needed and more . No words to express the gratitude to both of them on how they welcomed my family in as if their own

So sad for your loss. Mr. K was bigger than life. He always greeted everyone with the warmest hugs. I saw him about six or so months ago and was still greeted with the warmest hug. I have so many fond, fun, memories. Growing up watching the "Dad Chevra" at poker games on Thursday nights many many years ago. The laughter and the jokes. The camaraderie they all had. He was the most special, funny entertaining man.
I remember I accidentally zapped him once, when I was a kid. He came to our house to change a light socket and I thought he said "Turn on the switch." He actually said, "don't touch the switch." He never let me live that down. May your family be comforted in his memories. BDE

בשברון לב משתתפים בצערכם

He was truly מקיים the מצוה of
ואהבת את השם אלוקיך”שיהא שם שמים מתאהב על ידיך”
By raising a family where upon seeing his children, people would say ״ אשרי יולדתם אשרי אביהם ואמם שגידלם ושלימדם תורה״ contributing to a life of Kiddush Hashem.
I will always miss his humble smile and his true love for Hashem, His children and His Torah.

Yamin and I will always remember fondly the.many Shabbos afternoons we spent around the Kirshners table

Sheldon and Rita displayed a loving, Jewish home for all to see, and I am sure that that had a great influence on Yamin. I am very blessed by that to this day.
