OBITUARY
Muriel Glick nee Vernick age 81.
Beloved wife of the late Marvin H. Glick. Loving mother of Steven (Melanie) Glick and Michelle Glick. Proud grandmother of Noah Glick. Dear sister of the late Victor Vernick.
Muriel Glick, a beloved pillar of her community and a beacon of resilience and love, passed away peacefully at 81, surrounded by her family. Muriel was born in Chicago, Illinois, but spent her childhood in Michigan City, Indiana, after her father's job necessitated a move. She was raised in a tightly-knit family with her younger brother, Victor. Their parents, who enjoyed a remarkable 72-year marriage, instilled in her the values of hard work and commitment. After college, Muriel returned to Chicago and began a lifelong journey with her husband of nearly 53 years, Marvin. They raised two children, Steven and Michelle, in Evanston, Illinois, where they were actively involved in their community and Beth Emet Synagogue. Muriel balanced her role as a mother and wife with a successful career in public relations, where she rose to the rank of Senior Vice President. Active involvement in various civic and religious organizations paralleled her professional prowess. Her life was marked by a deep commitment to her faith and community. She contributed significantly to Beth Emet Synagogue and passionately volunteered as a docent at the Illinois Holocaust Museum. She found joy in travel, the arts, and culinary pursuits, sharing adventures and meals with loved ones. Muriel remained a source of strength and inspiration despite facing the loss of her beloved Marvin and the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic in her final years.
