So many, many good memories of Aunt Puah: the many holidays and our private chats on the balcony, her RUM BALLS (the BEST). her knitting a blue sweater for my mom and me stealing it because it was warm and pretty, she and Elie and my parents playing cards by the pool at Brown's Lake, her color palate and sense of style (red hair, green eye shadow, I can totally picture her), me getting much taller than her and us laughing about it, CHOLENT every winter (the BEST), her little Ford Pinto, and her chopped liver was the only chopped liver I liked. Sweet memories, indeed....

I had a crush on my aunt Puah when I was 8 years old. When my Uncle Elie married her, I was jealous. As a senior adult I now say that Puah was the best thing that ever happened to Uncle Elie. She was beautiful and spunky and a true sabrah in the best sense of the word. She was smart, hard working, and under-appreciated by the family she married into. I sometimes thought she was the "sanest" of the older generation in my family. She and I shared a love for my favorite all time novel "Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand. She was the only member of my family I had that connection with. As I write these words, i get in touch with my love for her and regret that I didn't cultivate more of a relationship with her as an adult. May you rest in peace my dear Aunt Puah.

Unexpectedly my younget aunt Puah succumbed to her struggle after weeks of brave resistance, courage and support from her devoted daughter Dita.
All I manage to remember is her gentle dispositions and constant smile. She always added 'key' to my name with her soft voice.
May her Ne'shama live in eternity with the righteous of Am Israel.

I had the opportunity to get to know Puah through my long time friendship with her devoted daughter Dita.
Puah was a smart woman, sharp minded, with lots of humor, caring mother and very kind.
I shall always remember how much we enjoyed her when we met in Chicago, whether at the apple pancake place (when Eli was still alive), or, a few years later, having Chicago's most famous pizza, or at a famous Italian restaurant, our table had always roared with laughter.
May Puah Rest In Peace.

I met Puah in Ramat Gan some 25 to 30 years ago. She made such an impression on me that I still hold.
May she rest in peace.

I met our dearest Puah about 4 years ago. I'm not family. But she felt like family to me. She felt like ancestry and roots, something from very far but from within. Puah, and her lovely daughter Dita, were my customers when I worked in retail. They treated me like family. When I left they visited me on my last day with a lovely present that I'll cherish forever. When she came in she could brighten the darkest of days, with her beautiful words, charm, and wisdom. She was intelligent and fast as a whip with her thinking. She was Ethereal in the most beautiful of ways. She will be missed and I will always hold her in my heart.

Puah was a great woman, she always accepted me for who I am.
She was easy going and a pleasure to be around. She will be a light missing from our lives.

Dearest Puah, my long time neighbor & friend. When I first moved into my home, 20+ years ago, you & your husband- Eli - were of the first neighbors I met & both of you welcomed me into the neighborhood with open arms. You offered a friendly wave with a smile, some truly friendly conversation in a sometimes too busy world where not all will take time to chat with their neighbors. It's seems like such a little thing but it's not little, it's amazing! Because it means that you are not only concerned with yourself, you are concerned for others around you. It's a beautiful kindness that was appreciated & heartfelt. First Eli was missed and now you too will be missed. Two kind hearted beautiful souls no longer with us in person, but reunited together again with God. My favorite memory that I'm going to hold onto is how you & my son shared the same birthday & how we sent cake back & forth to celebrate. 🙂 again, it's the little things in life that we cherish.
Dearest Dita, your Mom will be missed by many - most of all by you. I AM here for you, if you need anything. Please feel free
to reach out for whatever, even if it's just a hug.

I first met Puah and Dita almost 15 years ago. My first impression of Puah proved accurate. She was a smart, intelligent women with an equally warm and caring heart. During our many meetings thru the years she also showed her clever wit and sense of humor. A kind and gentle women who will be missed.
