A long time friend of Rachel’s, I was honored and moved to learn so much about what a truly a remarkable person her mother was. As someone who has enjoyed music and singing with Rachel over the years, I now understand the source of Rachel’s passion and delight for music and how lovingly it was passed down to her.

I and my husband Bruce have just watched the service, which was very moving listening to my niece and nephews. We are both so glad that this online service is available to those who could not attend.

I think about my family all the time and realize that I too, like Margaret, have been passed the gift of a sharp tongue, wicked wit and overall a compassionate heart.

My brother Paul has always been for me a role model of how to handle adversity and kick it to the curb. I myself have had several health challenges in the last few years. When I start to think about myself and those challenges, I start to think what a wonderful, brave brother I have. We have led vastly different lives but in the end we are so alike.

Margaret enriched Paul's life, and he did the same for her. I always watched with wonder how when one became infirm, the other stepped up. The tandem bicycle built for two is a perfect metaphor for how they lived their lives together and enriched the lives of their children.

All my love and more,
Aunt Susie
