David S. Jankelovitz, Loving husband of Geri "Shaynee" Jankelovitz. Beloved father of Stuart (Terri Orbuch) Jankelovitz, Lisa (Henry) Goldberg and Alan (Karen) Jankelovitz. Proud zayde of Asher (Brittney), Sheri (Adam), Elliot (Elyssa), Erica (Yaron), Yael (David), Elana (Sammy), Ronit (Yonah), Abigail, Joshua, Michael and Noah. Adored big zayde of 12 great grandchildren. Graveside service Tuesday,10AM at Waldheim Cemetery (Gate 80), Forest Park, Illinois. As a former student and then colleague of Elm Place, I had the pleasure of getting to know Dr. J on different levels. He came across as a superior, yet when holding PST meetings, his kind, gentle, mentoring soul transpired. When I think of Elm Place, three names quickly come to mind; Rocknich, Kornblut and Jankelovitz!

Cousin Dave always made me smile in surprising ways. Jonathan and I were so privileged to get to spend quality time with Shaynee and Dave in Florida and to get to hear stories that we otherwise probably never would have heard. But my favorite memory (and the one my brothers and I talk about at least once a year) was the almost-annual recitation of Twas the Night Before Chanukah - hat included. May Dave's neshama have an aliyah, and may his family and friends be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
