So sad to hear about your tremendous loss. When I think
of your mother, simcha is the first thing that comes to my mind. Always smiling and happy. Always a good word to everyone.
My mind drifts way back to the day when Brookie (our class of 1976) did our traditional senior run away from school. What other mother would have tolerated us barging into her house. Yes ,we ran away to the Silber's. That was the first time I personally experienced what an open home the Silber's had.
When my father o"h was very sick and was in Saint Joseph Hospital on lake Shore Drive, my mother wanted to spend shabos with him. The Silber's opened their home. It wasn't just one shabos, it was quite a few shabossim . Your ma went out of her way to make my mom comfortable plus gave her words of comfort to continue to be strong as my mother struggled through her difficult journey. My mother was so grateful for those special shabosim. For my mother, it was like a beautiful oasis in a dry desert.
May she be a malitza yeshara for your father, her children , and all her doros.

I, like so many others. was very saddened to learn of the petira of your beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Judy!
My relationship with her was a casual one, but even at that level it was obvious that she had a skill to make people feel they were a very close and important person in her life.
She was so warm and welcoming to me whenever we met. She was very easy to talk to. When I would show up at a Bnei Rueven function she would greet me and insure my comfort in offering me a seat at her table or nearby.
Judy was a beautiful person, inside and out, with genuine ahavas habriyos
