OBITUARY

Bonnie S. Lindenbaum nee Steiner, 83

Beloved wife for 62 years and best friend of Leon E. Lindenbaum. Loving mother of Diane Joy and the late Lori (Douglas) Phillips. Proud grandmother of Ciara, Allison, Chloe, Tyler and Ethan. Dear sister of the late Gerry (the late Edward) Weinberg. She was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Madison and a diehard Badger fan who was a season football ticket holder. She worked as a kindergarten and piano teacher, later in life she worked as a legal assistant. Bonnie volunteered as a member and she served as president of Y-Me. She also volunteered at Rainbow Hospice and the Kellogg Cancer Center. She was a professional writer of rhymes. She was an avid bridge player with a weekly game with seven of her friends who were known as the “Bridgies” for over 45 years. Most of all, Bonnie was devoted to her family with all her heart. Service Tuesday 2PM at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 8851 Skokie Blvd (at Niles Center Road), Skokie. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 8765 W. Dear Leon & Diane,
I'm so sorry for your big loss! I have many fond memories of Bonnie, going with your family to Candlelight Theater, working with her at the law office when she was a legal assistant and especially all the poems she wrote for me through the years, the last one just a short time ago in honor of my mother's 80th birthday. She was always so kind and welcoming. Thinking of you both at this sad time. May your memories of Bonnie always bring you comfort.
Love,
Marla Topp

I had the privilege of knowing Bonnie since shortly after I began working with Leon over 35 years ago, and she was truly a wonderful, caring and giving person in all aspects of her life. She will be sorely missed, but her life should and will serve as an inspiration to many others.
