*Email and phone numbers will NOT be displayed online

My most heartfelt condolences at this tragic loss. I knew Laura since I was four years old and we were in Sunday school together on the south side. Until very recently, we talked every single night before bed, laughing, crying at life. She was generous to everyone, caring and supportive. Everyone will miss her dearly.

My heart felt condolences and sympathy go out to Laura's entire family and her husband Ed. I was Laura's best friend for 53 years. We grew up together and shared many experiences together both good and bad. This illness took her very quickly . I am sad and she will be in my heart forever. There won't be a day that won't pass that I will reach for the phone to tell her something. She could talk on the phone for hours. always fun to be with. I feel such a great loss and the world will miss her ,. and I know you and Laura depended on each other for support and love and her family. She took so much pride for her nieces and their nephews. she had so much love of family . At ilast She's out of pain and at peace. All of her friends will miss her.

We were so sad to hear that Laura left us. We still can’t believe it. She was so funny, friendly, smart and beautiful, inside and out. We had a lot of fun times getting together with her, Ed and several other friends. Loved listening to her hysterical stories. Loved hearing about her nieces and nephews. She was so proud of all of them.

Laura, we already miss you. We know you’re finally out of pain. Rest in peace. 💔💔💔

I am so sorry for your loss. Laura and I became friends over 50 years ago. She was so full of life. Over the years we stood by each other through some joyous moments and some very tough ones. Her kind soul, words of comfort when needed and just being every day friends will be missed. She was irreplaceable. Rest in peace, my dear friend.

Laura was a special friend for many years, and through her I got to know a number of her friends at Jewish singles dances and helping to raise money for Children’s Hospital and Variety Clubs. We shared a love for Northwest Suburban Jewish Congregation and Beth Shalom. I thought of her just last night during the performance at the Marriott Theater and how much she loved the shows there. I will always treasure the wedding where, as maid of honor, she arranged for many of us to form a circle around the bride and groom and we all sang “That’s What Friends Are For”. In good times and bad times Laura will be at my side forever more.

My deepest condolences to the Dobkin family and Laura’s husband. We met in Ms. Quinn’s 6th grade classroom in January 1967.

I will never forget Laura’s welcoming kindness and friendliness towards me - the first Black child in our class at a time when such kindness was not without social risk.

I am thankful that God blessed Laura with a full life and a loving husband and family. May Laura rest in peace and honor.

Heartbroken to hear about Laura’s passing. We were classmates and friends at Coles Elementary School on the Southside. Although I have lived in Florida for 40 years, we kept in touch , and were able to get together along with our other classmates once a year in Chicago. I knew and will always remember Laura as a warm, giving, and compassionate woman, always putting others before herself. She will be sorely missed, but never forgotten. May she rest in peace, and may her family be consoled during this difficult time. Her memory should serve as an inspiration to us all.

I am saddened that my friend of 61 years, has left us. She was one of the kindest person I have known. Laura & I had so much fun in Grammar School. We even paired up to do a Science project in 6th grade. She was also my partner, for the last 15 in planning parties, to see our classmates from Coles Grammar School. We laughed, shared stories, met for lunches, and talked on the phone for hours.
She was loved by all who knew her. I will miss her so much, and will think of her often. Her pain is gone and she is in Shalom- Peace. Love you Laura!

It is with much sadness that I learned of Laura's passing. For many years I became acquainted with the Dobkin family when my family joined Northwest Suburban Jewish Congregation in Morton Grove. From the moment we joined it was impossible not to become familiar with Arnold and Thelma Dobkin, Laura, David, Larry and the rest of their family. There wasn't an event at the synagogue that they weren't present at. In fact it was their involvement that got me active and finally becoming president. I was so happy when I learned of Laura's marriage to Ed. Laura was always a smiling welcoming person whenever we met. It has been an honor for me to have called the Dobkin family friends. May Laura, Arnold and Thelma's memory be a blessing forever to the family and their friends!

I have known Laura for over 30 years. Her genuine kindness, thoughtfulness, smile and laughter are just some of the things I loved about her. Her family and friends meant so much to her.

She was the expert on all of our customs and traditions. I will miss hearing from her before all of the holidays. She will be dearly missed. May her memory be for a blessing. My deepest sympathies go out to her family.
