Shandel and I had not talked as much as we use to, life just simply got in the way. When I hadn’t called returned her call, she would call back and leave another message. She was never upset in her messages, just wanted to make sure we were all doing okay. She would ask about each family member specifically by name, from my husband to my grandson. I did know that when we finally connected, a two hour conversation would begin. She would also remember exactly where we left off. I’m saddened by her passing, am relieved she is now resting in peace. I’m sure she is now reunited with our many loved ones that have passed.

I met Sandra at mt synagogue, Makom Shalom. She was a valued member of the board and especially the social justice committee where she had great ideas for projects to add to ones that existed for several years.

We became friends and enjoyed theater museums and brunches and dinners.

I appreciate that Sandra was a fierce advocate for social justice but also a good friend, While I was going through Chemo in 2023 she was a loyal friend. She sent me cards, and tea and checked in regularly.

We had brunch plans for early July but postponed due to weather.. I will miss Sandra and am sad I did not spend time with her for a few months

Such a beautiful service today. Sandra was a spitfire and my most favorite hippy! I knew her from Makom Shalom and enjoyed a 15 year friendship until covid took its toll. I'm sorry I couldn't attend in person, but really appreciated being able to watch via zoom.
