Dear Sally you will be very much missed. It was a pleasure to meet you so long ago and it has always been great to see you all over the world since then. I always admired your energy and adventurous spirit! I will not forget our trips to Viena, New York, Cordoba, Barcelona or Amsterdam. I hope we will meet for some more adventures in the future. I will make sure to keep some safron and chirimoyas just in case. Lots of love, Ale

Dear Faizal,
I feel lucky to have known your mother. I have enjoyed her love of traveling, visiting new places, shopping, looking for presents for her friends, how she enjoyed good food, her willingness to join in with all the plans and her great optimism. I enjoyed how she listened to you attentively. She loved you very much.
We will put up the beautiful ornament she offered us for the Christmas tree remembering the Christmas we have spent together. I will remember her always with great affection, hoping that we will meet again one day.
Un abrazo

Dear Faizal, this will be a very special Christmas as it was always during this time of the year that I used to see your Mom. I remember very fondly the conversations about the importance of education that we had in Madrid. I hope that we can see you soon in Madrid so that we can go hiking and have another great chat, all my best wishes

Beautiful Masudha,
I know you’re happy and in a better place now. You’re no longer in pain. I’m going to miss all the stories you shared with me during my visits to you. I’ll always remember you as a very intelligent, strong, and brave woman. I’ll never forget how you were a lover of black tea with milk. I’m going to miss you. You’ll be forever in my heart. You were like a grandma to me.

Dear Faizal, Asher and Yasmin,

Your mom (and our beloved auntie) was the most passionate, energetic, devoted mother; an amazing teacher beloved by her students; a dedicated gardener whose Arabian Jasmine (mogra) bushes thrived in Chicago for decades; a generous soul who cooked for many charitable causes; a seamstress par excellence. She was determined to live life to its fullest, defeating a myriad of health issues; she spoke with delight of her life in Mumbai and Chicago in Marathi, Hindi and English; and she deeply loved you three with all her heart.

Love,
Mumtaz Niels, Safiya and Adil
