Dear Minow family,

I wish to extend my sincere condolences on the passing of Newton Minow. I had the great pleasure and honor of knowing Mr. Minow through the kindness he showed to the public library video project I headed in the later 1980's & 1990's. Your wonderful father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend was one of our project's most fervent supporters.

My father, William KIrby, was John & Catherine MacArthur's lawyer. Because of my years of work in the film industry as a film buyer and media specialist, my Dad suggested that I work in this extraordinary grassroots public library Independent media effort. It was the best work experience of my life.

I shall never forget the kindness he showed our tiny but mighty public library project. And I will always cherish the memory of Newton Minow's warm encouragement and kindness.

May his memory always be a blessing.

All the best,
Mary M Kirby

Dear Minow family - Having watched the memorial service via livestream, I am so grateful to have met your parents, each of whom were extraordinary. The tributes of his friends, colleagues and family were a powerful testimony to Newt's remarkable life. "Just as my ancestors planted for me, I too am planting for my descendants." He'll live forever in the hearts of many. I am one. Healing love to you and your family as you celebrate his life and still mourn him no longer by your side. May his memory always be a blessing! - Nadine
