Gideon was a special friend of yaakov a’h and me. Over the years we shared many life events with Gideon and Roberta, including Gideon׳s 80th birthday. His life story was incredibly inspiring. And his talent as a chazan was a love he shared w the Jewish people.
Just this year although his speech was compromised Gideon could still sing an amazing Kedusha with his all his soul
His memory will be blessing

Dear Roberta and daughters,
It was so sad to hear of Gidon's passing.
Since arriving in Chicago 44 years ago,, I could count on Gidon as a chever, a man of sincerity. In those early years we spoke daily about shul life, family, his upbringing in Israel
and life in Chicago.Ttwenty four years ago when we relocated to Florida, Gikdon and I remained in contact.
When I returned to Chicago on business, we would meet on Sunday mornings for bagels and cream cheese He would always ask me for a critique of the Hazzan I had heard on Shabbat. That's the love he had for Hazzanut.
I will always admire him as a devoted family man, a role model. During our last conversation right before Pesach, and with his diminished voice, he said he valued our friendship. We will miss him. May his memory be for a blessing.

Gideon was my beloved uncle. When I was a child, he often came to visit our family in Tel Aviv. I was always so happy to know he was coming, and I enjoyed the time we spent together while he stayed with us at home.
I especially remember our walks together through the streets of Tel Aviv, the neighborhoods of his childhood, wandering through Carmel Market, and eating Yemenite soup in Kerem HaTeimanim. It was through him that I came to know that place, and I always loved sitting there with him, listening to his stories about his childhood years in old Tel Aviv. I also have warm memories of my visit to Chicago in 2005.
In recent years, we stayed in touch by phone, and I had the privilege of witnessing how he fought like a true fighter, even as his health declined. He was a wonderful uncle to me. He had a way of passing on a kind of street wisdom. A special man whom I will miss greatly.
