Funeral Details

Terry and I have been friends for 30 years but we have been especially close the last seven. She helped me through a very tumultuous divorce.
Selling my house, finding a new place and just held my hand through the whole awful ordeal. Most recently, she helped me find a new place
And would not rest until it was decorated to perfection!
We enjoyed a lot of fun times together. We shopped, walked, dined, gossiped and laughed. I cannot tell you how much I will miss her!
I am very fortunate to know Donald and have had the opportunity to become friends with him as well. Terry could not have had a more supportive partner by her side! Chet and Billy, even though we haven’t met, I feel like I know both of you. Terry talked endlessly about you and your families. I do not need to tell you how your mother felt about you. I am quite confident you know. I am so sorry for your devastating loss.
I really loved your mother and the friendship we shared.

Terry was a beautiful shining soul. She always greeted me with such warmth and a caring hug. She cared more about what was going on in my life than wanting to talk about herself. She went through this illness with positive thoughts, never seeming to let it defeat her.

I first met Terry back in 2005. A relationship that started as broker and client quickly turned into a wonderful friendship. Terry and I kept in touch and would meet up for dinner and catch up on our lives. She always wanted to hear more about what was going on with me rather than herself. It just seemed to make her happy knowing her friends were happy. Terry was kind, always had a big smile on her face, and genuine. I was fortunate to go to a Cubs outing she hosted and to one of her bowling parties. It was amazing to meet some of Terry’s other friends and sit back and admire what I saw - Terry was loved by so many people. I will always cherish our friendship. My deepest condolences to Donald and the rest of the family.

If you have some luck in life, you might meet the perfect person at the perfect time, and then both of you stay a small part of each other's life forever. I had that luck when senior year at Highland Park High School, Terry became my first girlfriend. That whole year I felt like she had been put on earth just for me. I don't think I was delusional in knowing that I was getting to be with one of the nicest, most beautiful and fun-loving people I would ever meet. Life's events have evolved over the past 58 years, but it was still wonderful to see Terry at High School Reunions or for dinner if I was in the Chicago area. I feel a profound and sober sadness for all of her many relatives and friends knowing that she will not be available for a get-together, e-mail or phone call. However, even if her physical presence has moved on, her memory and her spirit will always be part of those of us lucky enough to have known her and been a part of her wonderful life.

Terry and I were Best Friends in third, fourth, fifth and sixth grade. We were inseparable during those halcyon years. We rode bikes all over the neighborhood from St. Johns Avenue to Sheridan Road. We spent every New Year’s Eve together at her house running out on the lawn at midnight in our bare feet and PJ’s yelling Happy New Year. We walked to town every Saturday and had corned beef sandwiches and French fries at Leo’s Delicatessen. We snuck down to the beach when it was forbidden. We went to Riverview with Nancy and Billy. We wrote letters to one another every day when one of us vacationed.
A bright light has been extinguished from the lives of all she touched. She was a brave, valiant Best Friend. Rest in Peace, dear Terry.

Terry and I met in junior high, and she was my closest friend throughout high school and beyond. She was the most wonderful friend, and I have countless memories of our time together. We talked and laughed endlessly without ever having a single argument. She was caring, fun-loving, and beautiful inside and out. She loved her family and especially delighted in talking about her 8 beautiful grandchildren and sharing pictures of them. She was always interested in my family and my life, regardless of the health challenges that she eventually faced. I will miss her always and know that she will be missed by her dear family, as well as by all who knew her.

I met Terry through a mutual friend and she helped guide me into the real estate world. She was a great friend and mentor and always made me laugh- she was so real. I learned more about her at her funeral and that the way she touched my life was the way she did to everyone she met, but of course with her family at a much deeper level. She left a beautiful legacy but is already very missed. I’m so grateful to have known her.
