Babs was so special to us. She was a beautiful soul with so much great energy, a bright light within her with a fun and playful spirit! Whenever you were in her presence you felt special !and she loved our Lulu and Dakota like they were her own puppies! We will miss her deeply and know that her memory will be for many blessings. She and Tommy came to so many of our Mitzvahs and they showed us the meaning of being present during the good times and the hard times. Susie and David Selbst

I met Babs when we were young teenagers riding on the Broad Street Subway to Sunday School, Barbara to Rudolph Shalom (RS) and I to Adath Jeshuran (AJ). We were introduced by my first cousin, Barbara Berg , Now Morrison. She was going to Kenneth Israel (KI). We went to 3 different liberal synagogues all within close proximity to each other. I saw Babs frequently when Berg invited me to a party or other function. We lost contact in college but resumed our friendship through Barbara Goody Goodstein, now Selbst. 3 Barbaras among the many who graduated from Chatham College in Pittsburgh. Berg introduced me to Goody. Goody through a happenstance introduced Babs to Tom Bernstein. We both got married within a few months of each other. Babs and I both ended up in New York. Two Philadelphians, now married to two New Yorkers who knew each other as teenagers. We traveled together, think Baltic Cruise and Russia among others. Our friendship never faltered even when the Bernsteins moved to Chicago. It would take a book to recount all the good times we had together in New York, Chicago or Sarasota. We saw Lizzie and Rita frequently as they grew up. Goody urged Lizzie to move from Boston to Chicago, something we know she is glad she did.
A lifetime of friendship is now gone with the death of both Tom and Babs. May their memories always be for a blessing. They will remain in our hearts as long as we live.
With condolences to Liz, Rita and family from Goody & Stan. December 23, 2024

From the moment I met Babs I knew from where Rita got her vivacious sweetness. And later, Lizzie’s strong persona.
Babs was so gladdened that Rita and Drew had embraced the whole of both families and claimed them as their own.
She was patently proud of her daughters, and so loved her grandchildren. I did not know Babs before Drew and Rita’s wedding, but since then it became clear to me that she met every day with love and gratitude. Who could ask for more?

We are saddened beyond anything we have felt or experienced lately to hear (belatedly) of Barbara's death. We shall miss her, one of the longest friendships in our experience.
Although we were in cities miles apart and so did not see one another in recent years, we felt close to her and fondly remember the many many times we were together with Barbara and Tommy in New York, Florida and Blowing Rock, NC. Barbara Ragals Seplow was proud to be member of the team of four Barbaras along with Barbara Goodstein Selbst, Barbara Berg Morrison and Barbara Sickles Bernstein. She was a wonderful woman and a great friend.
