Dear friends and family,

Today, we gather to bid farewell to an exceptional human being, David Bikoff. I would like to take this moment to share a few words in his honor and to express my gratitude for having had the privilege of knowing him.

I was fortunate enough to cross paths with David during his vacation in Colombia in 2023. In that short time, I realized what a remarkable person he was: kind, generous, and full of joy. David had the ability to light up any room with his presence and to create unforgettable memories in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to meet him.

It is difficult to find the right words to convey what David meant to our lives. His passion for life, contagious humor, and kindness will always remind us that, despite the challenges, there are many beautiful moments in life to be thankful for.

David, we will always remember you with fondness and gratitude. Thank you for sharing your time and your joy with us. Rest in peace, dear friend.

My sincere condolences to all of Dave's friends and family. I worked with Dave at UPS for many years. He was a true partner. We shared a love for music and our precall strategy was always focused on our top songs. In my life by the Beatles would be a wonderful song to play right now.

Rest in peace, Dave.

I was in my 20’s working at Lord and Taylor at the time in the cosmetic department. My very dear friend today Shelly Soifer Hammer who also worked with me said to me one day “I have to fix you up with my dear friend David Bykoff. She said he had the most beautiful blue eyes and was a fun guy to be around and full of life. I ended up his girlfriend for the next 3 years. I was part of his family as David and I would always go to their home in Richmond Park every weekend. David was on the grave yard shift at UPS and would always pick me up in his Chevy station wagon beater with the paneling on it in the wee hours of the morning after he got off work to spend the weekend at his parents home. His parents loved me and welcomed me into their home. David was the apple of his Grandma’s eye and we always went to the city for her baked Mac n cheese dish. He loved his comfort food along with his fried burgers in a pan and snacked on Fritos and French onion dip (his favorite snack) We spent a lot of time together at his basement apartment on Oakley in the city before he rented his first apartment in Skokie.
Unfortunately we decided to go our separate ways and caught up on Facebook many years later. David was a great DJ and I accompanied
him to many of his parties he entertained his world of music that was such a big part of his life. He didn’t always have it easy but he made the best of everything. I will always remember his Smile, Energy and his Appreciation for Life, Family, and Friends.
RIP David …………you will be forever missed by all who Knew and Loved you. 🙏💔❤️☮️

While I was not in Dave’s inner circle, I was definitely orbiting around it. Dave was a gentle soul with lots of quirky ideas, but was always good natured and good humored about it. Here are a few selective memories:

- Although we went to different grammar schools and didn’t meet on a personal basis until high school, we played on opposing teams in pony league baseball. One time I came up to bat with Dave on the mound and he proceeded to hit me in the thigh with his best fastball. I was walking funny for the next week, and I think I still have an imprint of the laces from the ball on my leg to this day.

- Later as young adults we were teammates on many softball, basketball, and football teams - mostly through the AZA.

- Also as a young adult I began dating a girl from Blue Island (way south of the city). I fixed Dave up with her best girlfriend, and we double-dated numerous times before I broke up with the extremely geographically undesirable girl - but Dave continued for quite a while longer even though they were driving each other crazy.

- My only apearance on stage was in a musical revue at the Mayer Kaplan JCC in Skokie. Dave was right along side me while we performed ‘Standing On the Corner Watching All The Girls Go By’.

- Dave of course was well known for his prowess as a DJ, and naturally performed at my wedding. He drove my bride a little crazy by playing the Chicken Dance and Hokey Pokey against her wishes. She got over it though, and we are still together 35+ years later.

Multiply these snippets by a thousand times for all the experiences that people remember of having crossed paths with Dave, and you get a feel for how full of life and fun he was to be around.

RIP my good buddy Dave, you will be missed!

Completely shocked and saddened to hear of David’s passing. I saw him briefly at our Mather HS reunion, but unfortunately, did not get an opportunity to catch up w him.
A friend & I saw him perform in a play at the JCC in our Freshman year of HS and then were invited to his family’s home for dinner. He was good looking, very talented and his family was warm and welcoming.
I am aware that this was a sudden passing but does anyone know the cause? I feel as though he has been cheated out of so many years of life and potential joy.
My heartfelt sympathies go out to his daughters and extended family.
Hopefully David is at peace and the music plays on.

Dave was a good friend and colleague at UPS. WE were both Senior Acct Execs. and showed me the ropes early on in Sales. I loved seeing his passion for music and his family. We used to sort our mail together and shared many good times after work, even though I was the old guy in the group. May you be at peace, Dave and deep condolences to your family.
