Dear Family and friends,
I'm writing to inform you of the passing my brother, Stephen David Flaxman, whose spirit departed from his body on Tuesday 12/15/20 after a cascade of medical complications following spinal surgery 2 years ago, subsequent congestive heart failure, and hip replacement surgery 2 months ago to alleviate severe pain regardless of whether he was sitting or standing. Although Steve delined into a very weakened condition, he was alert and responsive to the heartfelt loving attention of Louise, Amanda, and Joshua right up until he succumbed. He acknowledged by squeezing Louise's hand that he was able to hear Peter and me talking with him just moments before he passed. We are all relieved that he is no longer suffering, and we are all aprreciating his love of family, love of life, enjoyment of good food and good humor, and his knowledge and appreciation of fine art and classic automobles. Steve had a big personality; he leaves a vacuum in the lives of those who experienced his affection, generosity, and loyalty.
In this era of COVID-19, Chicago Jewish Funerals' Mortuary is providing a Zoom Memorial Service this Sunday, December 20, 2020, at 3 pm CST. You are welcome to join the Zoom video service; for those of you who would like to attend, please log in to the following link at least 15 minutes prior to 3 pm CST (when the service will promptly begin) so you can familiarize yourself with the website where you can record a video, or record a private message, or tell a story or memory about Stephen to the family. Love and a ((hug)),
Bill
