Dear Marty, Larry, Bruce, loving wives, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, The Niederman family had the great good fortune to land next door to you all and your parents back in 1960. We were all so fortunate to have such good friends and neighbors as your family was. The abundant love and caring about each other combined with such fun living and growing up in Timber Ridge will be with us forever. Your Mom and Dad were so easy to love. I will always remember your Mom talking, almost always on the phone with a big smile on her face when I'd go into your house. And more recently, every time my Mom and I went to Sedgebrook as guests of your Mom for lunch, and Rose would say, "Get ANYTHING you want for lunch!" and we'd sit and catch up on all the news of your families, and all the happenings at Sedgebrook. It's now been 60 years since I met you and your folks, and the intervening years have not diminished all the joy we experienced together. I, and my Mom and family, are so very sorry for the loss of Rose, of blessed memory. You all are in our hearts. With deep love, Mindy, Joyce, Michael and our families

You have to meet my mother , Larry my sonâ??s college roommate told me. Sheâ??s a very nice lady. Many times through peals of laughter the story was retold about that first meeting.

From then on Rose and Gerry welcomed my late husband Robert and me into there family inviting us to celebrate with them holidays and other occasions.

Through the many years Rose and I chatted regularly to share family news and to recall our many happy occasions together. She was a very nice lady.

I just learned of Rose's passing and wanted to offer my profound condolences to her family. I watched her service and was so moved as I learned more about her from her loving family. My mother Rhoda lived at Sedgebrook for many years. I live out of town, so on my regular visits, I would take up "residence" there and spend concentrated days just hanging out. That is when I met Rose. She lived down the hall from my mother and often would plant herself on the bench leading to the dining room and greet everyone who walked by.....that's when we had the first of many, many conversations. When I heard her last name was Gilbert, I asked her if she was related to my cousin Jackie Gilbert's husband Howard......she lit up and said no, but they were neighbors in Timber Ridge. I see Jackie has sent a note to you as well....Rose asked me about Jackie each time I saw her. On every visit, I looked forward to my conversations with Rose, who never missed a beat. I heard all about Pittsburgh and I remember her tearing up when she talked about her beloved Jakie. My mother and I would often ask Rose to join us for dinner....but, every night, she had a set group for dinner! Your descriptions during her service depicted her so beautifully......she was a social butterfly. I just wish I had known her in her prime.....but she shined until the end.
We moved my mother to a facility with more care in November. After cleaning out her apartment, the last thing my sister and I did before leaving was stop in and say goodbye to Rose. It was very special to spend time with her; I could see that her health was failing and I knew that I would not see her again.
Your mother, grandmother and great grandmother was a woman who memory will stay with me....you are all so blessed to have had her in your life.
