Sallie Blackman, age 94

Beloved wife of the late Irving L. Blackman. Loving mother of Linda Blackman, Jeff Blackman (Sheryl nee Kantor), Tammie Blackman Brown (Alan). Proud mama and grammy of Ian Dezen, Felise Dezen (fiancée Ruslan Goldman), Chad Blackman, Brittany (Rob) Schwartz, Amanda Blackman, Josh (Batel) Brown, David Brown and Dana Brown. Cherished great grandmother of Sloane and Charlie. Dear sister of the late Teddy and Sidney and sister-in-law of the late Benny (the late Lenore) Blackman and Alvin (the late June) Blackman. Aunt and friend of many. Devoted daughter of the late Charles and Ida Sitnick and daughter in law of the late Nathan and Bernice Blackman. Service Thursday 2PM at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 8851 Skokie Blvd (at Niles Center Road), Skokie. Interment Memorial Park. I had the pleasure of having 4 grandparents in my life and I was lucky enough to have them through most of my young adult life. Little did I know that after they passed, I’d be fortunate enough to gain a 5th grandparent through marriage.

Mama was a spark. She loved me and I loved her. Not just because I married into the family but because we had a real connection. I love her always and will forever miss her.
