Aaron was one of my most memorable 6th grade students at North Shore Country Day School. Aaron was a brilliant student who did not always want to socialize with other students his age. In fact, he seemed to thrive on the company of adults and certainly spoke like one. He loved to learn and did not feel that there were many beneficial classes in school. He loved my math program especially where banking and investing was included. If he finished his work early in school, or I felt that certain work was not necessary for Aaron because he previously proved his competency in it, I allowed him to go to the library to work on his programming. He was writing original programs in 6th grade without anyone's assistance. It was mentioned to me by another teacher that Aaron should really be going outside for recess as he needed to "play" with the other kids. I just felt that his focus on "programming" was much more important at that time. It was the â??flowâ? that Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi and the Multiple Intelligences that Guru Howard Gardner had influenced into my being as a teacher.

During the â??financialâ? section of my mathematics class, he asked me if he could write a program to create an ATM machine. I went to the technology people at our school and asked if we could devote an old computer specifically for this task. We were given an outdated computer for this and Aaron went to work. Each student was given a unique identification card by Aaron and had to log in with a special password to get into the machine. Of course, we also had a student sit near the computer in the â??tellerâ? section of the bank to take deposit or withdrawal slips or give necessary cash withdrawals as students requested.

He would talk to me about another invention, that he wanted all books to be scanned so people could read these online instead of using an actual book. You can find a myriad of items that Aaron published even at his very young age. He was hardly the "typic

To the Family: I am so sorry for your loss. The death of a loved one is never an easy matter for any of us to cope with, but we do have the assurance of our Heavenly Father that he will comfort us in all our tribulations. (Psalms 55:22) Death was never a part of the Creatorâ??s purpose for mankind, so, he has furnished a guarantee by means of his Son, Christ Jesus, that we will see our loved ones again. (Acts 24:15; John 5:28)I pray that you may draw comfort from these words.

My prayers are with you and your family dear Aaron. You were one of my most unforgettable students of genius. The time you spent assisting and inspiring me to pursue my own works in digital feeds for educators will never be forgotten. Your dreams which really only began to evolve into realties in sixth grade were etched out in your programming skills even at this young age. You were always a prodigy that I knew would succeed even if you had to battle with others to get there.

Although I never met Aaron, I am saddened by his passing. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends. I only know of Aaron through his work with the Demand Progress organization and his efforts in opposing SOPA/PIPA legislation. I, like he, believe that information should be free. I have written my Congressman urging him to begin a Congressional inquiry into the over-reaching by the United States Attorney for the District of Massachusetts.

May Aaron's memory be eternal, and may he rest in peace.

To all the Scwartz family and friends, What a privilege you have had in sharing, teaching and learning with this remarkable young man. The pain (right now) of accepting that Aaron is no longer here seems more than one should/can bear. May we all find a way to keep our hearts from hardening.....May the tsunami of love barreling towards each of you be seen as an offering in washing away some of the sadness.
