OBITUARY

Geraldine "Geri" Stillerman nee Spevock

Loving mother of Jody (Cindy) Taerbaum, Barry (Doris) Taerbaum and Robin Shapiro. Proud grandmother of Ryan (Meletina), Shizue (Shalom), Jeanine (Kai), Edina, Sam (Allie), Jessica. Cherished great grandmother of Ellie, Emmett, Tali, Mari and Zevi. Dear sister of the late Betty (the late Carl) Unger and Bernie Spevock. Geri was kind to all and found a way to invariably make people laugh. Everyone whose path she crossed said how much they loved and adored her. A word often used to describe her was "feisty." She cherished family, especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were the light of her life and brought her immense joy. Geri had a deep love for animals. Her heart was full any time Barry or Edina brought their dogs to visit. She was a woman of great inner strength. The path she walked was not an easy one, but she persevered and found happiness for herself and her family. She will be missed by all those whose life she touched in small and large ways. Services Friday 11AM at New Light Cemetery, 6807 N. East Prairie, Lincolnwood. Memorials in her memory to Cheder Lubavitch, 5201 West Howard Street, Skokie, Illinois 60077 www.clhds.com or to your local Humane Society would be appreciated. My deepest condolences to everybody that knew and loved her. I admired so many things about her. She persevered through times that were not always easy for her. She had wonderful children that always stepped up to be there for her. She was like a grandma to my kids growing up, and personally I always looked forward to her coming to many events at Doris and Barry's. We used to crack up together. I tried my hardest to make sure I was sitting next to her at the dinner table. She was a highlight to so many, and will be truly missed. May her memory be for a blessing

Geri was a sweet spirit that I will miss. No matter how much time passed between physical encounters, it always warmed my heart to see the big smile that would light her face when she saw me and I can still feel her warm embrace.

I met and enjoyed my special friendship with Geri who I met at the Niles Pool prior to Covid. We talked, laughed, lunched, shared stories of our kids and grandkids. She loved life. Her smile and greeting lit up the room. I cherish the time we spent together. May all the wonderful memories her family and friends have be a source of comfort to all.
