I was privileged to have a friend like Bill. 45 years of friendship. I have never met a person so devoted to family, friends and community. His love was unwaivering. His family and friends defined Bill. My life was blessed to have him as a friend.

We are all very lucky to have known my cousin Bill. He was a great man, all class, hard work and success, with an uncanny sense of humor and sharp wit, who loved to have a good time with friends and family, a true baseball lover (he loved the White Sox; went to my first live MLB game in Chicago with Bill and family), a professional. A family man. Everyone who knew Bill is brokenhearted today. He will be greatly missed. My love to his wife, Gay, and three boys and all of his / our family and friends who love him.. ...as Bill himself once remarked at my dad’s funeral “ The party just got bigger up there!”

My condolences to the entire Murray Family. Billy (he told me I was one of few that could call him that) will be greatly missed. He was my childhood buddy. We were 2 weeks apart in age, lived 2 houses apart and our early days were spent playing house under his back porch. I’ll never forget my first day of 1st grade. After school we needed to line up in certain rows depending on where we lived. I didn’t know which line to get in and Billy saw me crying. He came over and took my hand and said come on Joanie, I show you where to go. He was always there for me, even to the point to take me to senior prom because I didn’t have a date. We even got married 2 weeks apart. He will always have a piece of my heart. Billy rest in peace.

Dear Cousin Bill I will miss you greatly. Our bets on Cowboy Bears games, your text messages to my mother and I on the anniversary of my fathers passing every year, and your laugh and love will be greatly missed. When you would lose a $5 bet and send me a $10 bill torn in half to pay off was a classic.

You are truly a man for others, the motto of my Jesuit high school, and you lived it every day of your life.

I am so grateful you visited us in November and I was able to see and talk to you one last time. I am especially grateful that you met my wife Valéria, you made a great impact on her and she loved you from your first meeting.

You are now with your parents and sister Dee. I hope you, your dad and mine find a great golf course and are able to play again together after The Father says well done good and faithful servant. You have run a good race and kept the faith.

Love, John

I am Bill’s favorite aunt , or so he always
Laughingly told me (I was the only one he had left).
I loved Bill so much! He was born 5 months after I was married to his uncle Jack, so he was like a son to me. He was beautiful inside and out. Tall, handsome, brilliant, funny, loving, great son, husband, father, brother, nephew, and friend. Always helping people. Doing his best for others.
When my husband passed on in March 2002, Bill came to me and said “don't worry about your income taxes, aunt
Betty., I will do them for you from now on”. And he did.
He called me periodically to find out how I was doing and called every year on my husband death and Birthday
anniversaries.
Bill and Gay, along with Ed and Dianne and Kim and Russ, came to visit me in Dallas last November 8th. We
had a wonderful time! Only Gay knew of his illness… I could not believe it, I still can’t.
I will miss him so much’ but he will always live in my heart.
